Hello, friends!
I'm Mandy—the small-town girl living in a nerdy world that this blog is named for.
I grew up on the West Coast, mostly in a small town in Southern Oregon. I've always been a bit of a nerd—my parents named me Amanda after Amanda Grayson, Spock's mother, so there really wasn't a way to avoid it. In high school, I started getting more comfortable with letting my nerdy side show, but I didn't fully commit to the lifestyle until later. (It was also in high school that I met and fell in love with my husband, Colt, but we didn't get married until a decade later.)
After high school, I attended the University of Massachusetts, where I got a degree in English and Journalism. I then moved to Austin, TX, for a fresh start. I've been here ever since—and only gotten nerdier as time has progressed.
I like alphabetization, Auggie (our younger French Bulldog), books, crafting, Colt, diy, family, friends, Frigga (our Chihuahua), grammar, Louise (our older French Bulldog), movies, Oliver (our son), and TV. I dislike allergies, being hot, dentist trips, people wearing mascot suits, and public speaking—although, recently, I've gotten better at that last one.
Reading the blog will, of course, help fill in any missing details.
Hope you enjoy!
I look forward to filling in the gaps. Just one question.... You dislike allergies, and being hot, but you moved to Texas?
